Miller's ledger, 1837, 1865-66.

The ledger, was originally used in 1837 as an invoice book for Smith and Saunders, tobacco merchants or shippers, possibly from Mecklenburg County. The book was reused 1865 -1866 by a miller. Entries include one for corn requsitioned from William Townes for the government by Clarksville Confederate Quartermaster James E. Haskins. A loose receipt to Townes from Captain E. [N?] Williams is laid in.
